I have set up a custom error page (global default)

But when someone enters a protected page and click on Cancel button (username and pass empty) they see this meesage:

Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Why the global custom error page is not working?

Thanks

I am having the same problem.
Windows 7 Pro, 32 bit
WAM v4.0 Build 214; full version
Safari closes out of the log in window with no 401 error, beautiful.:)
But FF, IE, Opera and Chrome all display an Apache 401 error despite me having an .htaccess ErrorDocument directive to use a specified 401.html message.:(
I have reworked the code in the pages to html5 but it makes no difference.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
