Error pages not showing

Hello there
Just started with the new v5 and able to lock a page no problem.
Trouble is I can't seem to get any custom error page to work as it just comes up with the standard browser 'Authentication required' message. Tried a custom page too and no difference.
I must be missing something! Probably a brain cell or two. Is there something I have to do to tell it to use an error page?

Thanks for any help
Cheers

Custom error pages do not work if you click cancel on the login box or just fail to login. They only appear after you authenticate.

Remember error pages are just HTML pages so if you do not authenticate, there is no way to display them.

'Morning Scott
Even if I click cancel or don't log on with the correct info, I still don't get the custon error page...

I click on the 'error pages' button, the default 'to the point' page, global/default ticked, click ok and upload. Uploads and theme files seem to go with the upload. But the error page doesn't display.

Any thoughts?

Might be a bit late to the party but had the same issues.

Looking at the file system the .htaccess file wasn't getting updated. In fact it was being left with a file size of zero whatever WAM did. Oddly .htpasswd was being updated fine.

A bit of tinkering and it turns out that setting the ftp mode to passive in the WAM ftp settings did the trick.
