I have added a protected folder to a website I am building. I added one user and when I try and access the page, after I enter in my username and password, I get:

500 Internal Server Error
The request was not completed. The server met an unexpected condition.

67.199.146.93/~breninc/downloads (port 80)
Please forward this error screen to 67.199.146.93's WebMaster.

What have I done wrong?

Eric,

Are you asking questions about the Web Access Manager, or something else you have uploaded?

If you are asking about WAM, have you checked the website to verify that the correct files have uploaded? You should have .htpasswd in the root, and .htaccess in the protected folder.

Did you have .htaccess before you started using WAM?

Yes, Web Access Manager.

The website does have .htpasswd in the root and .htaccess in the protected folder.

Yes, I had htacess before I started using WAM.

I have used WAM on a couple of other websites with no problem

Here is the link and and access:

Eric,

I did not get a 500 error. The username and password did not work. I was just given another login screen.

Try removing WAM from the website and then uploading it again.

I too am getting this error and am unsure of what to do.

I have http://www.hhsrobotics.org/site/membersonly is the page to be protected.

I have the main site listed in WAM: http://www.hhsrobotics.org
The .htpassword is in the root directory and the .htaccss is in the /membersonly directory. Not sure what is goin wrong.

I am thinking the problems may have to do with the site being located at: hssrobotics.org/site and redirected to hhsrobotics.org

If ayone has any ideas, I would sure appreciate some help.
So behind in my projects nd really need to get this working.

Thanks!
