Per,
What is the name of your form?
What is the email address you used in notification messages under settings/Email notices?
What is the email address you used in auto response messages under setting/Email notices?

In your attachment, are we viewing the notification coming into you or are we viewing clicking reply to that notification and viewing what's in the body of the reply?

Which email address should have had the dashes in it?

One more thing, I've never seen an email address that had a www after the @ sign in it. It's usually just @domain.com

Which email address should have had the dashes in it?....just the fictitious one that is based on the form name...

I just tested sending myself an email with @www.domain.com and it came through without a problem. It may be set up on your hosting account with a www in it in the formmail area. You might want to go into your hosting account and change it to just @domain.com because you never know how other email clients or ISP's might react to it, even if it were a real email address, because you may set up another form service sometime. I'm not quite sure or clear yet how CoffeeCup relates to formmail setups, but it couldn't hurt.

Not sure about the dashes problem but I'm glad you mentioned it so we would know that. Dashes are allowed in email addresses, so it must be CoffeeCup taking them out when deciding on the leading words for the fake email address.

Is there supposed to be a space between Per and @ sign or is that just the font making it look like there's a space there?

There's no space. Just looks that way...

Okie Dokie
I'm going to subscribe to this thread. If you find a work around or fault on the dashes, please post it.
Thanks

I don't actually feel that I have a problem that I need a work around for. It was only the sending address that looked a bit peculiar. But since that sending address is not used for anything, it really doesn't matter to me.
The form works just fine for me. :)

But since that sending address is not used for anything

Unless a potential customer gets a hold of it and tries to use it, gets a bounce back, and doesn't try again.

You're right, Tina. If the original message is included in my response, then that fictitious address will be visible to the recipient. I hadn't thought of that...
Thanks for reminding me!

You're welcome. I just have to warn my clients to delete it each time they reply to someone. It'll be up to them to do so, if they don't want to lose some possible business.

Eric, what happened to your print screens? I saw them a minute ago and now they're gone.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
