I understand what you are trying to do, but the only way web form builder will do that is if you create a list of ranks for each branch of service. There is no other way that I know of to do what you want, without modifying the code. And if you do that then understand that each time you make any change to the form, your changes would be overwritten and would have to be entered again.

What you want to do isn't hard, just a little time consuming. But the time spent setting it up will be worth it for the ease of use you would get out of it when it is finished.

I appreciate all your help but I need to try the other way I mentioned earlier.

I put some java code into a copy of preview.html that was created by Form Builder and it works exactly like I need it to but I don't know how to put it where it needs to go using Form Builder.

I have a jscript file that contains a function, some code to go in the HEAD section and some SELECT statements containing all seven pay grade lists to go in the body.

Could you tell me what folder to put my jscript file in, how to put my java code into the head section and how to get it where I want it to go in the body using Form Builder or another way.

In using the HTML thing in Form Builder, I'm not exactly sure how to get it to where I need it in the body but might be able to figure that one out.

I'm not sure how to get anything in the head section and where to put my jscript file.

Thanks

Sorry. I'm not a coder but if you hang out here long enough I'm sure one will come by.

You should be able to use an html element to place the scripts on your form.:) I would try the scripts outside the head of the page so you don't have to alter your form.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

That sounds like an idea to try, but......exactly how do i put the scripts outside the head of the page? Where do I place my jscript file?

Using the form builder is just about as easy to do as any specialty apps I have ever used but I thought that what I am trying to do would be sort of built-in.

Do you think I should I go back to using html forms?

I value your opinion.

Thanks

The form builder is an html form.;)
Use the html element in the form builder to place scripts on it.

Post back if you need more help. I have several examples in this forum of forms with jquery scripts loaded into them to alter the forms content.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Yes, if you could point me to some examples it would be much appreciated. I like using Form Builder and I believe there is a solution.
