Transparent Theme Quirks

I like to sometimes use the transparent theme on forms to give a bit of an embedded look and also use the width percentage setting to compact the form for a better look. If you apply the transparent theme to a form that has 2 field widths set to 50% so they display inline, they drop underneath each other unless you adjust the right/left padding. Same with 3 fields at 33%. None of the other themes do this. Fixable but irritating considering it's the main theme I use. Seems to be a math glitch somewhere in the transparent theme.

I do not have that problem... The only way I can get it to do that is if I set the padding on one of the items above 10... It does not seem to happen just by changing the theme to Transparent.

I have that same problem. Transparent theme, label position "top", form width 600, item width 100%. If I add two text fields @ 50%, one drops below the other. If I add three text fields, each set to 33%, two are inline and the third drops to the next line. Four @ 25%, three are inline, the fourth drops to the next line.

What is the padding on the left and right of the form? And if you do not mind, can you save that .fb file and attach it to your next post?

The padding values are at their default settings. top 5, right 15, bottom 25, left 21.

Sorry, the zip file is over 100kb so I could not attach it.

Problem appears to be that if you switch themes (i.e. Default to Transparent), the text field paddings are changed to their defaults and subsequently the right and left paddings are greater than 10 and moving them to a new line.

Ok, next question... Do you have a template set? If so which one?

My default padding is 4 on the right and left by the way...

What version are you using?

The problem I see is that your padding is set to high.

I would have to concur with cc&c I too had this happen when swapping different themes it alters the code permanently I think and it doesn't put it back to defaults but seems to keep adding to it.

I had a side by side pair of elements that when I swapped themes it would then no longer stay side by side and I had to remove all the padding on both elements to get it to do so. This was after putting the theme back to the original one I was using so it shouldn't have made me have to do that since I didn't have to do that when I first chose that theme. Something's not right there and I don't think it's user error on this one... but it isn't an impossibility LOL.

Version 1.2 > Open up the program with a blank slate, before doing anything I select 'transparent' theme, add a text field, default padding is 5, 15, 25, 21. I agree with the padding settings, they're just set too high by default for that particular theme.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
