styling [form_results] - Post ID 195548

I'm having a bit of trouble emailing a notification page to users because I don't seem to have control over the formatting of the data set represented by the [form_results] tag in the html markup. I'm finding that larger text fields have the field name vertically centered next to the data in that field. Rather confusing and difficult to read. I'd like to add some other formatting for readability, as well.

Does anyone know what .php or .css file would control the formatting, not of the notification page itself, but of the actual [form_results] tag?

Or am I missing something obvious? :-)

Cheers,

CR

If you click on configure email message you will see all the styling being applied to the auto response message. You can select each element of your form separately [email1], [checkbox1], etc. and set styling individually.:) There's even a rest panic button to return to OEM.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Hi, Eric:

Thanx for your reply. Yes, I can see that I could apply some styling to an element 'from the outside' as it were - but I want to address the way the data being returned to the email message is formatted as it loops thru the data set. For example, I'd like to add a line between each item in a record, and style the divs that contain each item in a record.

Will try looking thru the code to see if I can find the spot that writes the data to the email form :P

Cheers,

I'm not quite sure if you're asking how to style it on the site or how to style the results email itself. For the results email you can delete completely the [form_results] tag and then put the fields in manually into the email setup. This is all done within the program not outside of it. Just edit the results email by going to Settings and go the Email Notices tab. To edit the email that "YOU" get edit the top one, and to edit the email the "USER" gets edit the bottom one. The buttons there are to edit the email code directly.

No need to edit any of that outside of the program :)

Eric:

Ahhhh, Bliss!!!! NOW I get it - didn't think of adding each field separately! I forgot that I'm just editing HTML in that UI!

Will try this ASAP. Thanx for the kick in the right direction :P

Pretty much yeah, but I think he misunderstood what you meant and thought you were talking about doing it outside the program :P
