I have several forms in which the customer wishes to have users complete the form on-line, but rather than submit, have the user print the form out. Thanks to Eric and others I have been able to hide the Submit button and create a "Print this page" button.

However, in testing the forms I now realize that when I use the "Print this page" button required fields are not checked for content. For example, if a name is required and that field is not completed and the Print button is clicked on the user is not referred back to that field to complete it before continuing.

Here's an example: http://warerally.com/attendee-registration/

Any thoughts on how I might be able to correct this. Thank you in advance for any help.

I don't have any solution to this, but I wonder if it is important to have those required fields at all. It depends, I think, on what the end user is to do with the printed-out form. If it is to be handed in somewhere, and if something is missing, surely he/she will be notified, or not getting what he/she wants, on presenting the form, until those missing details have been completed.

Hi Inger,

The form will be mailed in. Users will be located from throughout western area of United States. So I hope that users fill the corm out completely. Not having the required fields will just mean more work for the sponsor of the event.

Thank you for your comments.

How about submitting the form and having a checkbox to print. Then use the custom redirect option to grab the variables to fill in a second form and print it.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.
