Hi Eric, just asked Orlando on Personal support he told me that MySQL doesn't yet work on S-Drive, but i have tried running the site through wamp and it still doesn't add any entries, it's extremely frustrating, might find someone and pay them to get it working using TeamViewer, have any luck with a Mysql form???

I set up a form with a single text box in Wamp. I got it to work and save to a csv file but with MSQL I am having no luck. I have set up databases before for other uses. I created the base but left the Table name for WFB to handle but I get an error. I will see if I can get time to go back to it. I am probably wrong. I set up a password under user root as WFB requires a password. I am probably wrong, Yes you heard it I am not without faults.:( . Strange as I had no problems setting it up on my host. Frustrating. I used my new HTML Editor made a form and posted to a php script that loaded to my Wamp database, go figure. I do not like to loose but it is taking hours. Drat :(:(

Generally I use a flat file system I can upload to a clients server without the necessity of using their MSQL. It hits thre ground working immediately the form file is loaded. Great database system by a clever Polish mate of mine.

His database is pjjTextBase at http://www.pjj.pl/pjjtextbase/ . best of all it analyses the WFB csv file. It is has almost as many features as MSQL has for data up to a few 100,000 data entries. I created a classified site with it. PHP learning lesson. The csv files are its tables and they can be set into a relationship with each other.

If you contact him tell him his Aussie mate put you on to him. I wont give his name that is his prerogative. He is an absolute genius a with php.

Thing is, unless you are competing against Google, with your hands on the files like this you can save and filter the data so easily, so maybe all that is active may be the present month. The previous being archived. I wish I had it still up, quite impressive. I got bored with it.The admin files required were enormous. I have all the files saved, registration, email confirmation, login, all under session control

If I get it working I would not expect anything I would be glad to help. It is frustrating me at the moment. One thing with the flat file base you do not have to put data into a table in the database the csv file is the table.
If you have some php knowledge I can send the scripts relative to registration, email to applicant and confirmation. I created. They would get you started. I have put some WFB information handling routines in my demonstration site. http://phpsnippets.webatu.com/ The routines react in different ways to output saved in the csv file. No database.

Consider a csv can hold several thousand records and it only takes micro seconds to access the last entry, what these scripts do. The csv files can be down loaded and imported in a spread sheet to do some clever bits with. If you look at the structure of a MSQL database with records you will see a spreadsheet like list same as a csv file.

I am actually working on a Web Site analysis program to report on my many sites to help improve them. I shall only use the csv files on those. Reason being I only have to upload scripts and a created csv template and I am good to go. I am planning to create literally 100's of sites on multiple hosts. I have over 20 sites now and the reason I am creating the tools to make it easier. The WFB is only a device to get information, I plan a artificial intelligent response module. It is not that far fetched. A person makes a choice then based on a choice there are limited responses to that choice and a reply can seem to come from a human when it is just a pre planned routine of predetermined logical avenues that are set in stone.

The WFB is so adaptable to getting information as it allows quick creation of nice looking forms and best of all the output is predictable and works every time. I also purchased the other day the HTML Editor to fill in the gaps VSD leaves.

In my opinion if anyone is fair dinkum about getting information and manipulating that data then He/she's arsenal should consist of WFB, VSD, HTML Editor and the Website Access Manager To top it off the Web Image Studio. I am a pensioner, money is tight and I did not make those purchases lightly.
I expect them to pay me back a thousand fold. My plan, one site earns $1-2 per week advertising revenue do the math. :D

I haven't had a chance to check on getting this to work in WAMP. I have a form working in MySQL on on other host.:)

Hello Prism, you have some pretty interesting ideas above ^^^
all very confusing for me at the moment, this is the first time i have ever tried to do this, i payed $70 for web form builder and it does produce great forms, but at the moment unfortunately that is about it...

You seem to have far more knowledge then i, so in your opinion, what are your thoughts on using WFB's mysql and csv options and using wamp, or flat file systems like PJJTextBase, im not sure what to use to do what, i am not sure of pros and cons of each either.?.

I am looking at hosting my website at the moment so i can get it online so i know none of my problems are because its on the net yet... Just finding the best hosting...

Also whats VSD, i searched google but all that resulted in is me learning what "ventricular septal defect" was :/

Also with Web Access Manager, is that like a database that data can be stored in, a possible replacement for wamp? I have downloaded it but cant set it up, but that is again because S-Drive doeskin allow WAM yet :/

Thanks, Dave...

PS, i like your idea of money making, i would be thrilled to be able to make a site that made just enough money to support itself (domain name and hosting) and maybe and extra dollar or two so i make something for my efforts :D

Oh right, i thought it might have been a third party program or something :3 I usually just use templates as a replacement for a visual site designer...

This is my advice
1 VSD is a WYSIWYG web design tool I purchased it as it produces sites fast. Essential for novice/expert
2. WFB creates forms fast and outputs emails and saves data Brilliant. Wise buy.
3. Web Access Manager ==>> site security good to have, not essential
4. S_Drive a free host by CC for one form and one website, Great way to make a start. With 1 or 2

Now! I strongly advise not turning your computer into a server for more reasons that I would know.

There are a multitude of free hosts to use but without S-Drives help. My choice for a novice Web Master.

Deciding to venture on the web is a bit like opening up a business, You first need a plan unless it is just for a bit of fun. You need to lay out a plan, what your goals are and list the steps to achieve it.
If you wanted to become a Mechanic you would seek training acquire your own tools and determine what area you wish to pursue. A form is just that , it is a device for accepting information no more no less. Just a step. You have a valuable tool now.

Let us know what your goals are and any of us will give our best advice how to achieve it. It will not just happen, nothing worthwhile ever does. To succeed well you do need the appropriate tools. Why do I come here. Because I believe CC's tools are the best there are. Not the only ones and I use other tools as well. Consider Coffee Cup as your Sidchrome tool kit not always the cheapest but the best.
