Problem with "Thank you" destination...

Hoping that someone can point me in the right direction :)

I've created my newsletter sign up form, linked it to MailChimp, uploaded it to S-Drive, popped it into a page on my VSD site and everything works great :) Except that when someone enters their details on the form and hits the Submit button the form changes to a thank you message, but you can only see the left half of it. I've tried changing the Confirm Options details in Settings from "Confirmation message" to "Redirect to custom HTML page", expecting that once I’d hit Submit I’d find myself on a whole new webpage, but the only thing that happened was that the form itself changed to an even larger sized thank you message that I could see even less of! I’ve attached a screenshot below, along with a picture of the form as it looks before it’s submitted.

I’m guessing that I might solve the problem by changing the css coding in the “Confirmation message” box on the Confirm Options page but I can’t see the coding that determines the width of the message. And why won’t a new page open when the form is submitted if I’ve selected the redirect option?

All suggestions gratefully received ;)

Hmm... I've posted this, but no attachments appeared. Where am I going wrong with that?

Umm that would be because you have it in what looks like could be a frame, or the form is not being redirected to the new page, but is loading the new page into the area you have the form in. Be sure you have the correct URL for the redirect set up (if you have a page already created as a thank you page, that's what you should use in the Redirect option.

Do you have a link to your form page? We can give it a try and see if we can help you out on that :)

Looks like the confirmation message is to wide for the frame the form is in. I've seen quite a few users having similar problems lately with forms that are very narrow. You may need to alter the css.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Jo Ann and Eric - I created an HTML box on my VSD page and pasted the form code into it. Do you know if there's any other, better way to do it in VSD or should I just try to tweak it as it is? I clicked on the Web Form button in the VSD menu to see if that would give me the option to insert a form but it just went to the WFB download page.

You can find the form in the bottom left corner of this page: ecoethicalliving.co.uk

I'm happy for the thank you message to appear on the form itself, but I'll also have a play around with creating a thank you page to link to the redirect and see if I can make that work.

Eric - I've looked at the css code for the thank you message that appears on the form after hitting Submit, but I can't see which bit I'd need to change to reduce the width.

The code is:
<center>
<style type="text/css">
#docContainer table {margin-top: 30px; margin-bottom: 30px;}
#docContainer td {font-size: 12px !important; line-height: 30px;color: #666666 !important; margin: 0px;border-bottom: 1px solid #e9e9e9;}
#docContainer td:first-child {font-size: 13px !important; font-weight:bold; color: #333 !important; vertical-align:text-top; min-width:100px; padding-right:5px;}
</style>
[form_results]
<h2>Thank you!</h2><br/>
<p>Your form was successfully submitted. We received the information shown above.</p>
</center>

I roughly know what bits of it mean - I'm still on a steep learning curve! Would adding a max-width solve the problem?

It's a bit of a pain trying to test the results, having to unsubscribe and then resubscribe to the list all the time :/ Unless anyone can tell me a better way... ;)

Thanks for your help, guys!

I've just been reading through the WFB Help PDF and have noticed that the box that pops up after I've published to S-Drive is different to either of those shown in the PDF (I've attached screenshots below - the two from the PDF, and the actual box that I see in WFB). There is only one step and no Open in Explorer button to upload files to server, or wherever. Would that be because I'm using a newer WFB (mine is Version 1.2, Build 3880) than the one in the PDF, or am I missing something? All I'm doing is copying to clipboard and pasting the code into the HTML box on my VSD page...

If your publishing to S-Drive there's no manual export method. Publish the form and paste the script provided by the app to your page and your good to go. If your using the manual export method for a host other then Coffeecup then do the manual export then upload the files with an external ftp client then paste the code into a html box on your page.

Dawn, it looks like you are reading the Export options in the guide, which are used when you'd like to host your form on your own server. I believe you intend to host your forms on S-Drive, judging by your screenshot of the Form Successfully Published! window. If you are using version 1.2, you can find help with this window on page 31 of the help manual.

Hiya Dawn,

Just a heads up that version 2.0 has been released in case you want to update it :)

So it has! Thanks Jo Ann - I missed that ;)

Thanks Eric and Ryan, I thought that might be the case...

I've now set up a thank you page and the redirect works fine. The only thing that's a bit freaky is that if someone subscribes twice with the same email address a HUGE red error message comes up in the space at the top of the form and forces the rest of the form off the bottom of the webpage. Still, as the chances of someone actually signing up twice are pretty slim, I'll try not to lose too much sleep over it :D

And hopefully anyone who signs up will have a fairly short email address - I tried one of mine and it was too long for MailChimp's 25 character limit :(

Thanks for all your help.
