Printing plain text or ? - Post ID...
JUST REALIZED I posted this in the OS x forum by mistake. So reposting it here.

I am testing out the software. I want to have my contract online so that clients can fill out their contact information and submit the signed contract online. I have the form created and working.
The problem is, since this is a legal contract I need to receive the complete contract with all the text so I can save the whole contract as they signed it. I put the text of the contract in a 'plain text field'. It looks good but the plain text doesn't show up in the email. Just the fields.
I need to put the contract text in something other than a 'plain text' area obviously. It has to be where no one can alter it and it will print in the email. I have tried a couple of thing with out any success. I am sure there is a way to do this, so what am I overlooking?

How about putting it in the confirmation page or do a redirect to a separate html page that they print and sign then email back.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I currently have the form on my web site as a interactive PDF but there is no way to sign it. I want them to be able to do everything on line. Many clients do not have scanners or FAX machine so it's not easy for them to get the contract to me quickly.
Often times I get a call in the afternoon and could do the job the next day if I could get a signed contract back. I need something they can sign and return on the web site, no printing it out and scanning or FAXing involved.
Next issues is liability. If there is a dispute I need to be able to produce a copy of the contract they signed. That is why I want the contract text in the returned form. Then I can show exactly what they signed with date on the file. It has to be something that will stand up in Court as a legal contract.
Thinking about this some, the email confirmation might work? I could put the text in there, I am just not sure if it would hold up in court? The contract has to hold up in court if there is a problem.

If you're using a PDF you can get PDF programs that allow signatures in them, not that I can figure it out much myself hahaha, but they are there. Love your other suggestion more though

Redirect to the active PDF and your all set.

In case anyone else needs to something similar, I did a cut and past and put the contract body in the email. Took me half the day to get both email looking like I wanted but one extra job will pay for the time. Not an elegant solution but at least it works.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
