need 2 columns of checkboxes in...

The min width for 2 columns of checkboxes seems to be 485px. I have done this with and without captcha, made the columns only 1/3 the width of the available width, reduced font size, still in this format only shows as a single column of checkboxes rather than 2. If I put it somewhere else where the width is 485 px or greater, no problem. That is way too wide for a sidebar. Anyone know a fix for this, or explanation of what I'm doing wrong?

Getting pissed.

Thanks

So David I think I have a way to fix this but I don't know if I should share as I'm afraid you will be more pissed if it doesn't work.:)

It's a setting in the properties that you can give it to tell it how many columns you want it to have. Check your checkbox and radio button properties on the right and you will find it. Simple as can be.

I was just joking about that. I know how to do multi columns, the problem is if the form is less than 485 pixels.

So, what is the idea?

Already done that. As I mentioned in the prior reply, the problem is that it goes to a single column display if the physical width of the form is less than 485px. We have the latest version and have it set for 100 pct for responsive sites.

thanks

Use a separate check box element for each one.

That sounds like a good idea. Going to give it a try right now! I'll let you know.

Eureka. But not quite as you suggested. I tried the checkboxes individually as 33% wide and still got one per row.

However, I used the side by side - actually as one entry for all 8 checkboxes, and it treated them as 'word wrap' so that I ended up with 2 - 3 per row. My absolute preference would be neat little columns, but I'd rather have 3-4 rows rather than 8, and this looks fine!

Thanks for heading me in the right direction. Hope the coffee cup folks are reading this. They should have been able to recommend it a week ago rather than telling us time after time that it was a coding issue. It IS a coding issue on their end. The column setting SHOULD work. I'm okay with someone saying that they can't help me now, but we'll put it in the queue to fix it.:):)

Another thing to try with using the milticolumn settings is to be sure you have removed all the padding and margin in the properties of the dropdown and another thing to then do is play with the text size of that element. Sometimes that will help accommodate it to fit better.

Glad you found something that works for you though. Very narrow forms like that are definitely hard to get things precisely lined up when trying the columns. Good luck with the rest of it.

The formbuilder is awesome because there are so many ways you can form a form.:)
At least you have the option to tweak elements. Spacers are also great at helping with positioning.
Have fun with your new discovery.
