This I can't figure out.

The problem form will not create a table or connect to the database.

Following a suggestion made by Eric, I split the form into two parts and tested it.

It connected to the database and created the table with the complete index and columns from both parts of the form but only saved the data of the second part so that idea, although a good one, still does not work.

I imported a copy of the form into a trial of the latest WFB update but unfortunately it will not allow me to upload it to the server to test the if this version would work.

After receiving a couple of phone calls today from people who thought that the form did not send because of the failure notice that appears when the form is sent, I have had to remove the form from the website until this problem is resolved.

If I did go down the road of purchasing the update, there is no guarantee that the forms would work.

Pete.

When you split the form into two forms what did you do? You need to make two separate forms in the form builder. Probably two different tables also. I would make the first one and then use the custom redirect option to forward to the second one. I can help you with transferring data from the first form to second form so users don't have to fill that in and you have a way of filtering form results.

I tested you form on my host and got the same error as you. It's to big.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your help with this and things have now moved on a little.

I have the latest version of WFB and with it, the same problem so the answer is to split the form in half.

I have tested it split but the database see's it as two separate forms.

Is there any way that I can link the two parts together, preferably on the same page so as to save it as a single database item?

Pete

Hi Peter,
I can help you with getting all the results showing on one page.
What do you want to do with the data?

Hi Eric,
I am still no further forward with this issue other than Hans Top was looking at it in a support ticket but as I have not heard anything for a couple of weeks, I am assuming that what I need to do is not possible.
I have again tried the new Form Builder which I had already purchased, but using that not only means rebuilding all of the forms but it appears that the program does not allow me save the forms to a database.
I have tried various ways to split the form into two or three parts but this method is not an ideal situation for the person who is completing it but I am unable to get the separate parts to save as a single table.
Thanks for all of your help but I think that I am going to have to look at other programs to achieve what I legally need.
Pete.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Firstly, let me thank you for all of your help with this problem.

After much testing and searching on Google, I finally found someone who had the same problem.

We have all been looking at the wrong thing in thinking that the problem was related to the length of the forms and the number of questions required.

One of my forms has 91 required Elements which were all named to use the Display Rule as each question when answered displays the next one.

This is where the problem was … the naming of the Elements.

After changing them all to numbers, (i.e Q01etc), all 91 questions were successfully saved into a database so I am now legally compliant with the GDPR Law.

Thanks again for all of the help.

Thanks for the update Peter and sticking with searching for the issue. I did a lot of searching and testing and never saw anywhere that the naming of the inputs could cause that. Great job!

Peter,

Would you share your form for the GDPR?

I can't believe there has to be 91 questions to be GDPR compliant.

Hi Ernie,

All I eventually did to make it GDPR compliant with the large number of elements was to number each one.

As WFB does not accept numbers as the first digit, I name them Q01, Q02, Q03 etc up to Q91.

It's taken months to find what is really a simple answer but something that has not been thought of as the problem.

I hope that it helps other people who may be struggling with saving forms into a database that is GDPR compliant.

Pete.
