Is this going the same route as the Photo Gallery -- that is, can forms now only be published to S-Drive? Or is it still possible to export a form and upload it to my own server?

You have always been able to export your form to your own server Paul. The same thing with Photo Gallery. S-Drive has always been optional. Why do you think that S-Drive is required? No where in the blog post do we even mention S-Drive at all.

The only thing you need S-Drive for for the Photo Gallery is if you want to use the HTML style rather than Flash. Other than that it's the same as it always was, exports for your own site to use the Flash setup for galleries.
