I just built a brand new form for a contact page. It shows up on the page, I can input information and it redirects when I hit the send button.

I get no notification that I sent an email and get no email from the form. (I have it set to come to my email address.)

Here's the page on my test site if anyone wants to look: http://mytestblog.net/harborheader/contact.html

There are a few things you can try that sometimes fixes things:

1. Go to Settings > Notification tab and change the From: Field to the name of your E-Mail element in the form. To find this name click on the E-Mail element in your form and click the properties tab. Take note of the Name element. This is what you need to enter into the From field. You want to place it in brackets like this [email1]. Your setup looks like this:

2. Check your SPAM folder. Sometimes emails can get trapped there.

3. Try using different email address under the Settings > Notification tab. Use Gmail, Yahoo, MSN etc.

4. Use S-Drive or find another hosting provider for just your forms.

Scott,
OK, now I get the notice that someone filled out the form (with the info) but I didn't get an email that the sender is supposed to get.

Can I do the same thing on the confirmation page or does the from email address have to stay in that field?

Forgot to mention, I had already been to my SPAM folder and nothing there. I do want to look into S-Drive.

Scott,

OK, I used one of my gmail addresses for the from address on the confirmation page and it is now working.

Thanks for your help,

Ernie

I just realized that when someone fills out a form and gets the confirmation email it will show the email address in the from filed. This doesn't look very professional if you have a business that's 'Joe's Plumbing' and your contact form from address is 'email@gamil.com' or Yahoo etc..

Do we know what the reason is that causes us to not be able to use a domain specific email address in that field.

How did you format the email?

I just put the email address into the from email box: contact@joesplumbing.com

I have to head off to work so I will check back this afternoon.

Thanks Eric

Eric,

That worked. I didn't realize the email address had to be formatted that way. Was there ever any documentation put together for WFB? If there was where can I find that?
