Hosting your own web site.

I've been hosting my own web site for 6 years and I have purchased many programs from coffee cup.
However there's only a few that I was able to actually get to work properly.

I purchased form builder to help me create the necessary forms to interlace with Dreamweaver.
I've been using a product called a Abyss software for hosting my web site there is a free version available.

http://www.aprelium.com/

A number of these products require PHP and I haven't installed, on my server and it works I tested it with bulletin board software, as well with the script. However when it comes to some of the products I purchased from coffee cup, to contact the Web host administrator's, well that's me, and I have no idea about how to write software to get the coffee cup products, to contact the PHP script. On my server. So this is where I could use some help.

As well other programs that purchased, Shopping Cart Creator Pro 3.9

I would love to be able to use this software that I purchased on my computer or web server that is setting in my house.

Probably wondering why don't I use a provider for Web serving, a nasty taste in my mouth from using other providers for hosting my web site. And the support that I received from them in the changes they made after I joined and paid for serval years of service and then changing the rules and regulations within that period of time. I decided to find software that would serve my web site and that way I am not limited to the amount of bandwidth or webspace limitations. I'm only limited because of not knowing how to write PHP and set up a database. So that's why I purchased coffee cup software in order to help me with some of these issues however I now realize that I still need to learn to write script for PHP. And I have no clue.

So hopefully we can get some help. With some of these issues.

Thank you for your help.
No I have not used the form builder, or the shopping cart software, because of the issues with PHP.

You say you are hosting your own website. Is that on your own computer?. That seems a bit extreme these days. If that is the case then Wamp could offer all the Php, Apache and MySQL you need. I believe you can set up a email client as well.

Yes, it's on my own computer setting in the House very close to me. However I do not believe it is extreme. Because you did not get ripped off by a web provider. Besides I host other people's web sites as well. It only cost me five dollars a month for static IP plus electricity. I build the computer myself.

Is it possible to run the server within Wamp that may give you the support you need. Maybe a support ticket will get some advice. Shame you cannot use these fabulous tools.

You get other people to host their sites on your server without PHP? How much do you charge them? PHP should be mandatory these days. I would be looking at getting PHP setup so as Prism stated so you can use fabulous tools.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I have PHP install. How much do I charge others for serving their web site, for my friends nothing. At one time I was serving for web sites. Now just three.

PHP It is in the root directory of the Windows program.

I would suggest you start by installing WAMP as well. That will give you the basics you need. However I have to agree with Prism, self-hosting theses days is crazy! ;)

I set up a server at my home just to try it. I was easy but I didn't want to buy a static ip that would cost me more then my host charges for tons of features. When you host yourself who do you call for support?;)
