Hi All,

I have made a new form and entered the information for the database before I exported the form. I then went to my database made new table for the form.

Is that all I need to do or something more to do to get the information going to base?

Thanks for your help. :)

Don't make the table for the form! The first time the form is submitted the program will create the table for you. It actually causes problems if you create it ahead of time. Just use a BLANK database and all will be well.

Hi Gunsmoke,

I went back into the database and deleted the table that I already created. Want do you mean blank directory?

Thanks

I didn't say 'blank directory'. I said 'blank database'. Means an empty database. A database with no tables or information.

When the form saves information the first time it should create the tables it needs. I just find using a new database for each form just helps me keep information in order.

I like keeping the actual database for my forms the same but every form gets a unique table name. Makes it really faster in the form builder so all you have to do is change the table name.:) No logging in to your server to create a database.;) All the info will still be in order.

I see a lot about MySQL and Form Builder. What I have not found is How do I connect my form to a database (MySQL).
I want to create a form that will take user input and save it to a database for viewing/editing later.

Hi Thomas,
In the form builder click on Settings at the top.
Now select the Storing Results tab.
Tick the Save to a MySQL database.
Now enter the information for access to your mysql database. The form builder will create the table for you so don't create the table ahead of time just the database.
