Hi,

I pretty new to the form buider. I want the form to do two things only all in one form.
1. Contact me form
2. Donate option

I bought this a year ago or so, all I have is a contact form lmao
Firstly is that possible and heck, how do I go about creating this form? Any examples.. the options I wanted was just selectable from a drop down or check box..nothing too fancy.

They either can donate or contact me with a captcha submit or something.. any help appreciated.

Cheers,
Joe

Short answer is yes, you can do what you want to do. Fairly easy. I don't use OSX however, so I'm assuming the form builders work about the same.

What you would want is basically a 'Contact' form. Get the users name, email, whatever, then have a comment block where they can leave a message.

After that put in a 'Radio Button' labled 'Would you like to make a donation?'
The options would be Yes No. Make it a 'required' field. Then have a line to collect the amount. Make it 'conditional' so it will only show if radio1=yes

There have been problems with CAPTCHA. It seems to work alright if you get it set up right. Or you could simply add a line asking...'Are you human?' Make it required. The user would have to tick the box to submit the form.

If you think you need more help, there is a video tutorial you can watch on how to collect donations on your form. Warning: cheap cheesy video! :D

If you need more help, I'll be up in about 12 hours...:P

Hey Gunsmoke,

Thanks for that mate.. I'll check out the video first and see how I go, will play around.

I do have a working form that works as a contact form which I made up from the first time I bought the software (never bothered to trial it). Was so happy when the form was working first go.

All it does was collect the name, email, website and comment block with captcha.

I'll update this thread as I go and thanks for lending a hand there Gunsmoke :) greatly appreciated..

Cheers,
Joe

Hi Gunsmoke or anyone,

The payment options only available during a NEW form?
I tried implementing it on the old contact form and you can enable form payment but the below check box for payment options is greyed out.

Maybe I should start from a new form and recreate the entire form?

Cheers,
Joe

Hiya Joe,

You need to put a check in in both the Enable form Payments, and the bottom Payment Options and it should all no longer be greyed out. I just tried it on a form I was have currently published and it's not greyed out for me. Make sure you have those check boxes both checked.

This may be more helpful Joe. I have made a sample form for you to look at, and a video. Sorry, there is no sound on the video. Just follow along, pausing when you need to. It should show all the steps you need to take to make your own form. Make sure you go to 'Settings' and set your paypal information, as well as your email and confirmation settings. All I do in the video is set the paypal info, which of course is bogus.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Hi Jo Ann,

That's strange, I took my original form that was created a year ago. Going through Gunsmoke's tutorial etc and even before that I tried to enable both options. Only the top option was available and checked..the bottom where you tick the box for paypal etc it's all greyed out, won't let me do it. But on a new form it does with no issue. So I'm not sure how that works..

Here's how it looks..

The demo looks good Gunsmoke that's something that will work for me :D

That tutorial is fantastic! Gunsmoke

So you saying captcha won't work on this?

Gonna try a new template instead of the old form, for some reason can't seem to activate the paypal options but workable on a New form. (OS-X) .. think it's time to go back to windows lol I got software that bought in windows that I've not used cos of OS-X..and the box is too expensive for what it is..

CAPTCHA is set up to work, and does work, if you set it up and include it correctly. Just follow the instructions and you should have no problem. There are many CAPTCHA programs out though, and some users are having difficulties. It's up to you. Try it out and if it doesn't work, there are other alternatives though probably not as good.

I knew a couple of my tutorials made it to youtube. Not sure they were all that great as I work out of my 18-wheeler, but hey, I'll let you know when I get my Star on the Walk of Fame!
