Just out of curiosity, what "uncertain" results does the HTML Editor give you with .js files? I've used it many times for them and haven't seen any issues. I don't' usually use it though, I usually use a plain text editor for things like that, but I've not seen any problems before. Haven't tried it on the new version yet though so if you have an example of a problem it causes, maybe we need to tell the CC devs about it? :)

Hey Jo Anne,

I could have sworn I read it somewhere on the forums or documentation but don't recall exactly. Just covering my butt so as not to cause anyone any grief. Sorry, guess I should have checked more carefully first. Actually, glad you've corrected me so I can start using the HTML editor for .js files myself.

Thanks,
Richard

I agree with Jeremy. I need to have a varying amount of radio buttons in three groupings a part of a ballot and they need to be blank in case a user doesn't want to vote for any of the listed people.

Also, is there a way to add test to the right of the that would not be included in the data sent to the database? For example:

0 Joe Jones - for his excellent work

In this case, only Joe Jones would go to the database and everything to the right of it would be a text only field. :/

Hey Richard!

WOW!!! Thanks so much!!!! That totally worked. I even forgot about editing it in Notepad and did it in Dreamweaver... but fortunately, everything seems to be working perfectly.

Well, it will be really nice if we ever get an option that will allow us to leave radio buttons blank (even though it deviates from the standards a bit). But, it is SO NICE to have a work-around for now.

Thanks so much for enlightening me with the solution. :-)

All the very best to you! You totally rock! :-)

"We have several yes/no radio button groups that should not have a selection made until the user selects an answer. Otherwise, we may get responses the form user may have never intended to submit. Currently, Web Form Builder is requiring one of the options (Yes or No) to be ticked by default.

Normally, when developing forms with yes/no radio button groups, we leave both "yes" and "no" blank by default. "

Any progress on this?

I'd like to have blank radio options and have these questions as a required field, the current process could lead to lots of skewed results. Or, more realistically changing the questions to a drop down list when radio buttons would be more appropriate.

Just check the "Required" box and that will force them to choose an option.

Using the Web Form Builder, I have a list of 8 radio buttons. The viewer is supposed to choose no more than 3.
How do I do that?
Thanks

Radio buttons are 'either/or' you can only select one, no matter how many you have. You can, as option 1: try to group them in three groups, so that people can select one in each group, or , option 2, you need to use check boxes instead.

This is a long thread with a lot of answers, but the original question has not been answered satisfactorily yet, and I would like an answer to that also. I don't want ANY radio buttons checked by default, and I also don't want to force them to be required. They don't have to check anything if they don't want to. I can't seem to do that, and it's frustrating.

If this has been fixed in an update to version 2.4, I wouldn't know, because I have version 2.3, and in my account, it shows that I don't even own Web Form Builder, so I can't update without buying it again. Why is that?

Naturally, I'm in a hurry for a response or to have this radio button thing fixed. That's always the way it is. Somebody's always in a hurry. I think will do the form on *another form builder*, just to get it done, and keep checking back here for a response. Keeping my fingers crossed.

To me the difference in a 'square' checkbox or a 'round' radio button is not really significant. I know it can be for some. And I think CC should address this issue, soon. But for now, I'd just use checkboxes to solve your problem.

Following the advice of the users above does seem to fix the problem, you just have to manually edit the proper files to get the desired results. Sorry there is not a better answer at this time. :P
