Ok I'll argue the point in support of it too as I do think his point is very valid.

Government offices say: We want a copy of the autoresponse sent to such and such to verify it's sent out each time.
I see this as an extremely valid use as that is probably one of the biggest ways they can verify that it was indeed sent to the user so the user can't say "I was never sent that email or message etc."

I see this as a really good reason for being able to include multiple emails in the response email setup.

Now I do see this as overkill, and I'm not saying that it's a good idea that anyone would do this, but I do see it as a valid and useful reason TO do it. I wouldn't want to get all them response emails myself spammed to me every time someone fills out my form, but ...

Most likely they have these emails all tracked and sent to a specific email inbox and marking them as read right off the bat with a filter, and then they have a copy verifying at all times that the person in question did indeed get sent that response should any issues arise later that need to be confirmed.

Just my 10 cents :) I can see other big businesses using something like this for verification purposes too.

I still just don't get it. Why would you want to see the auto-response message that some one filled out the form when you can accomplish the same thing by adding your email address to the TO field under the Notification Message area? By doing it this way, everyone not only knows that someone filled out the form, they also have what information was entered. That is far more useful and accomplishes the exact same thing.

Well yes it does and it doesn't. I think you're focusing on the "content" rather than the situation. They don't care "what" the response email says, they only care that they can verify that it was sent by having an identical copy of it in their records showing exactly who it went to and when. Basically an email trail of documentation.

It doesn't matter if it says exactly the same thing to everyone, only that they can verify the date/time/name/email address/etc. that it was sent to/on and have the exact copy.

Think of it as having a carbon copy in your records when you send them a letter.

So then my solution does work as it gives you a carbon copy of what was filled out in the form. It is the exact same thing. An auto-response message contains not only a "thank you" type of message, but also includes what information was entered into the form. That is the exact same thing as adding your email address to the TO field under the Notification message.

Unless I still don't understand why it is need the other way. ;)

I would also like to have more flexibility with the "Email Notices" section of WFB. I talked to Scott about this and he stated:
"If we get about 50 more people suggesting it, I am sure we will get it in there."
So........
Here is a link to a form (how ironic) to "suggest" these features to Scott and the rest of the Coffeecup Team.
http://buyriot.coffeecup.com/forms/formemail/
Please help David, myself, and other Coffeecup users to get these features into WFB.
Thanks

If it can, can someone please show us. I need to be able to have "[regex1]@example.com" in the auto-respond "To" box.

Hi Scott, can you advise if it is possible to format the text within the auto-response email, as when I tested my system the auto-response email arrived in the following plain text format, and without line spaces or live weblinks:

Hi Scott,

this is all working great now that i have downloaded the latest version of the software, however, the weblinks within the auto-response email are still not live links, do i need to include some special code at all?

Regards,

Simon
