Adding extra email recipients - Post...

Hi all,

I've just completed a website that has 5 coffeecup forms on it for a not-for-profit community transport provider. The forms are all set up manually (i.e - not on the S:Drive) and all working perfectly.

The question I've got is whether anyone knows how to add extra people to the notification list without having to go through the process of updating the email notice tab in settings and then re-uploading the forms. Can we get to the email list in the docs that sit on the server and add new emails directly? Any advice on this would be great :D

Thanks all

Yes, you can, if I understand correctly. You want to CC: your form data to more than one person?

Simply go to the directory on your server where your form files are located. In the directory 'YourFormName' (use whatever name you gave your form) find the file 'form.cfg' and edit the CC: data in that file.

Hope this is what you were looking for. Let us know if you need more help.

Awesome, thanks gunsmoke. I've located the file you mentioned on the server and am adding new email addresses as we speak. ;)

Many thanks for your help

You can do this all in the form.... *grumbles that everyone keeps telling people to do things outside of the program that can all be done within it...* lol

Anyways, this is in the settings, you have all the email settings right there at your fingertips, the CC: and the BC: etc. are all right there. Just put the email addresses in there and separate them with a comma and space. That's all there is too it and this way it won't get overwritten later if you change the form.

Hi Jo Ann - yes I knew how to add emails within the form, but I wanted a shortcut to add more email addresses without having to go into each form, add new email addresses and then re-upload each form.

All the best

I understand that for the most part Chris, just letting you know that if in the future you decide to edit the form within the program, you will need to remember to add all those names in there then so they don't get overwritten. The programs here don't import things you change outside of them, that's why they try hard to get as many settings within the programs. This one isn't a hard one to do, and reuploading the form takes less than 30 seconds unless you have some kind of monster form that is hehe. Well worth the hassle of doing it in the program so you don't lose your address list in an overwrite later. That's all I was pointing out :)

Got you, thanks Jo Ann

I'll make sure I remember to add the extra email address to the forms too so they're ready for any future changes.

All the best :D

Knowing BOTH ways of doing it is helpful! I can see uses for both methods.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
