Web Calendar displays incorrect data

I'd say at least 2/3 of the time my Web Calendar shows incorrect data. Sometimes all dates of the month are highlighted, sometimes other months data shows up. If I do a page refresh the data appears fine.

Any thoughts or work arounds?

Hey Dan, what browser and version are you using? I've tried loading/reloading in Firefox 2.0, IE6, & IE7 and so far the dates appear the same as in the xml file. However, I loaded the site in IE Tabs (a plugin of Firefox) and November listed dates starting with the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, which shouldn't be there. I wish I had clicked on the events to see where they were coming from, but I can't get the wrong dates to show up again.
I see in the xml you're using WebCal 4.0, which should be the most current unless there were any changes/updates made w/ the same version #. I'd try downloading the latest available and reinstalling, just in case. Open and save the project using the latest version.
Also, there's a huge paragraph in the xml file with paths to your C:
bkimage & mouseoversound are looking at "C:\Program Files\CoffeeCup Software\Working\GolfInCanada\calendar\"
It may be unrelated, but I'm sure that shouldn't be there.

Scott,

I always use the most recent versions of CoffeeCup Software.

Adam,

I'm using IE7! I removed the bkimage & mouseoversound although I've never used a bkimage at any point in my construction of the calendar that I can remember. I was using a mouseoversound but have just removed is because of the problem. Obviously something in the calendar code added a mess of garbage in these two xml entries.

Things seem to be working fine now (although only 3 tests) after removal of the bkimage & mouseoversound entries. Thanks for the time and effort...

I know there were issues with the older 3.# versions of Web Calendar, but I can see from the XML, they changed how the days are counted. Its sole purpose being a calendar, it's obviously important that the dates show up correctly. Be sure to post back if you see the wrong dates again.

Adam,

I removed all pre 2007 data as well as clearing the bkimage & mouseoversound. Worked a few times. Just checked back again and wrong dates are displayed again. I'm not sure what to do with the calendar. The page also contains RSS News Flash which may or may not create issues.

Are the incorrect dates consistent, I mean, is it always the same wrong dates when it acts up? Are any of these dates set to reoccurring (monthly, yearly, etc)? Hopefully we can narrow down what might cause it. Can you get the wrong dates by hitting refresh, or do you have to close & reopen IE to see the wrong dates? Hmm..

Adam,

Yes, the error is consistant but changes month to month. Right now for the 1st to 3rd of November I get:

<range from="3/9/2007" to="3/11/2007" state="event" catagory="">Toronto Star Golf & Travel Show - Metro Toronto Convention Centre</range>

and for the 5th of November I get:

<day date="5/11/2007" state="event" catagory="">Golf in Canada visits Glen Lawrence Golf Club<bR><bR>Course Review Added:
Greensmere Golf & Country Club</day>

These entries are nowhere close in my XML file.

It looks like the Calendar is getting confused with dates. (Date format is specified as: dateformat="mm/dd/yy")

I have the same problem. Refresh does work but obviously I do not know which users are viewing the correct or incorrect data. This is a problem. I am using the latest download for Web Calendar.
