I know that Search Engine Optimization is a subject that comes up here and there in the threads, meta tags, naming images etc etc. But experts seem to agree that the MOST important thing in determining a site's search engine ranking is non-reciprocal links. This is because Google figures that if there are a lot of sites willing to link to yours without getting a link back, there must be genuinely useful content on your site.
We seem to have a little network here on Coffee Cup of people who have built sites, many which likely have PR rankings. Is there any reason we couldn't help improve each other's SEO by providing links on pages with similar content to our own?
We can't make them reciprocal, but we could swap a NR link on one particular site for a NR link on a different site. For those of us who only have one site, we could just do it a favor to the person who is trying to build their SEO rank.
I have a Disney related website with a PR of 3. If anyone out there has a Disney/Theme Park/Travel Web site I would appreciate a link. I could, in exchange, provide you a link on one of my other sites...
