That's awesome.
Except your splash page ticked me off since I could only sit and wait for the thing to end or hit the back button, which I normally would do when presented with surprises such as that.

But just to be clear: What does "one hit" represent in your case?
(I also agree that the initial splash "Announcement" should be optional...)

PS: Nice site, and nice-looking dogs! That would lead to a lot of "hits"
A suggestion about your photo galleries: You may want to include the scroll arrows for the thumbnails. This would make it possible to scan the thumbnails and go to specific pictures, rather than having to go through the entire sequence. Some visitors may not have the patience...
Also, the play/pause button seems to be missing...

PPS: Relying entirely on a Flash-based menu can sometimes be problematic. You may want to add an alternate, HTML-based menu in the footer.
(I'm not really much of a dog lover, but I must admit that those droopy eyes in your pictures are beginning to get to me!
)

I think this sentence needs some adjustment.
If the bowl is raised off the floor to a hight that helps to reduce the amount of air taken in by the dog the problems will much less.
Drop the splash screen. Makes me think I'm getting phished especially when I could see the home page for a split second.

Because in nature, dogs don't drink from ground level water sources. The water is in bowels, on a stool, and a waiter comes by to refill every so often.
