Well I was gonna take more photos and label the fans....but I think I'll just call some computer geek around here LOL!

But to answer your questions David, yes, my fans are making more noise now than they used to - when they kick into that higher gear I mentioned earlier. Right now all the core temps are in the 40's. Seems like when I use FireFox & have lots of tabs open, and especially when I have BlogTV on, the fans kick in to higher gears.

I did find a 3rd fan at the top back and I think it is pulling air IN lol I can't even tell. But yes, all fans are spinning. The 3rd fan can't be seen in the photo below but it's in the upper right corner and on the back of my computer there are little hole vent thingies.

Screws or rivets...um...screws I think? I think all the fans are attached properly.

Not sure if there is space for another fan. In the photo below, there is a silver box casing thingie (I drew a red box around it) that is...well, it's empty. I'm not sure what it's there for. But maybe it can be removed to add another fan?

Goodness gracious! I think I'll just pay the $ to have my pc tested. BUT I want to buy a new fan ahead of time, so I need to do research on which model of the arctic freeze fan thing I need. L O L! I think I've lost 99% of my mind over this!

The red box looks like your hard drive and mounting bracket.

Ahh...well it looks empty but I suppose there could be something really slim in there lol!

And that one black fan, the one w/the blades facing the camera, what is behind that? Is that big green lego looking flat thing the motherboard?

I think I see a hard drive in there with a power and data cable attached to it on top. But it could be just an optical illusion.

A hard drive where? In the silver box? Yeah it's probably there but there is a lot of empty space in that silver box thing too.

There is usually enough slots for a few or more hard drives. I wouldn't worry about that impeding air flow. Your case looks fine as far as air flow (except maybe better cable management). :)

If you are having a heat problem that is adversely affecting your system, it's probably a fan(s), the heat sink is not properly seated on the CPU, or the thermal paste needs to be replaced. It sure isn't dust collection. :)

LOL...yeah I like to keep the dust to a minimum :)

Not sure about the whole heat sink thing...just found out that's the silver thing behind the black blades...right? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm spaz mode now!

Yes, it transfers heat away from the CPU and heat sink fan cools it down. Between the heat sink and the CPU, there should be a very thin layer of thermal paste. If the paste is to thick, missing, or old and dry, there can be a problem with the CPU overheating due to heat transfer between the CPU and heat sink is minimized.

your CPU uses the intel 775 socket, so these arctic coolers should work, about 1/2 hour to install if you move slow and haven't done one before.

the freezer 7 pro is around $30.00

if you do go ahead with it, post a picture after you are done so we can coo over it :)

I have been watching my temps for the last 2 days now... And am seeing mid 50's when 'under a load' and 40's when resting. So yeah, your's is a 'bit high' I suppose.

But, what concerns me more than the temp itself I guess (and I'm not sure why it's not being discussed yet) is that you have 1 core that is significantly higher than the others. Mine (on both the desktop and laptop) are staying within about 3-5 degrees of each other at all times. Without getting too technical (unless someone else wants to get into it that deeply ;)) The big "selling point" of multi core processors, is supposed to be that it has the ability to either run as x # of processors (individually) or it can combine the power of x # of processors (and act as one "super processor"). Either way, I would fully expect the load (and thus the temps) to be more equalized on your system.
