I vote CoffeeCup should turn off...

Threads in these forums would be a helluva lot shorter, and more useful if signatures were taken out. Think about it for a moment. Imagine the benefits. Less finger fatigue, more learning, shorter browser sessions == productivity boost.

+1 vote from me.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

We might be able to make that a user preference. Hmm....

If I can't lead people, who come here for help, to my web design and hosting website with a signature link, what's the point in helping? :)
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

I agree with Tom, one of the nice benefits is the ability to make it easy for people to find your sites with links.

I would however think a limit of lines/characters would be sufficient to keep them shorter. Say something like a max of 5 lines and a max of X number of chars per line? And also no images would also be helpful or a limit on the size of them in the sigs. To me that would be just as beneficial as having no sigs :)

I actually do agree with Tom. The sigs are a huge help for most people. They can go and see examples right at their finger tips with out searching. If your going to turn off sigs. then you might as well turn off posting code.:)

I think a user pref would be great. After all, there is a preference to 'censor posts.' So, why not one to turn off signatures? Food for thought.

I can see Tom, Jo Ann and Eric's point of view and I actually agree with them as well. Some people put a lot of effort into helping users out here in the forums. Just look at their forum post counts! The signature file is a way for them to receive just a bit of extra recognition/credit for their hard work.

Maybe we can set it as an option for people who have over XXX posts that way it gives you something to work for. ;)

Actually, my post was sarcasm. :)

I don't care what you do as long as I can harass folks while helping others. :)
