That's the whole point James, that it "needs" all those security products. Joomla is one of the more user friendly ones for sure, but it's definitely miles behind Drupal for security and features that are built right in such as user access levels that work without having to pay some other user that created a module for them. Joomla is miles prettier than Drupal by far, but no where near as functional.

Never tried dotnetnuke, looks just like an HTML site page there Janys, very nicely done without getting into all them billions of frills which get on my nerves LOL. All the beauty of an HTML site with all the functions of a CMS, that would be nice for sure, I'll have to take a look at that one.

Jo Ann - I decided to do this one in cms just in case I drop dead on this guy. He allowed me to build his first ever site in regular html when I started out straight from school - but last year I updated everything to a cms site and started working on some streamlining. We are not there completely, but on the right road. Now he can get his gallery assistants to add in something urgent if the worst comes to the worst as I have also created some template pages for various aspects of the gallery that his minions can fill out without too much hassle. I just remain as the super admin and they can edit some of the lesser content.

Yeah I do that with a few sites that I created for some CMS gaming guilds a while back, basically super admin, and they can change things here and there as they like, and they call me when they need more help which isn't too often anymore, I think I got them pretty self functional hehe.

I say they CAN edit the lesser content - but not one of them has ever yet offered to do it!!! I really should put my foot down about what a web designer should be expected to do!!! Can't complain as this guy also calls me to translate their exhibition catalogues and for the press releases, so he does keep bits and pieces of work trickling in to me.

hehe ya, one of the more current game sites I've been working with is like that, the leader doesn't want to touch the site or forums, is afraid she'll break them lol. Changes are minimal though so it's not too bad, not like one of them where I was having to update the member list every couple days to a week, what a pain that was lol. They aren't playing that game anymore though phew lol.
