Cliff I wanted to bug you one more time I called coffeecup but they wont talk to you you have to send in an email but the lady took down the info and about 3 hours later I heard from them opencoffee cup html editor 2007 click on file in the top left corner and down near the bottom click on recent files and my question is how do I get rid of the one I need no more??
This is the answer I got from CC support .If you go to File -> Recent Files, a list of recent files will show up; these are files that you have recently used in HTML Editor, so it won't show any other files but those.

To remove files that you no longer need, you will need to delete them in your Windows filesystem; HTML Editor will not delete files.

Thanks,

I guess that may be a good ans for somebody but I dont know what he is talking about.
Thanks cliff

Hi Buckshot,

Sorry you don't like the answer you got from CoffeeCup. Bottom line is;
You can't delete the files from that list using Coffeecup HTML editor.

Here is how I would do it:

The list only holds the last 20 pages that you have opened in the editor, so why not open the editor, open the pages you have created, (the ones you want on your list). If you have 20 pages you want to see in that "recent files" list, open those. Close them, and your list should now only have the pages you want to see in that list.

Hope that makes sense.

While I wouldn't go as far as calling it a big flaw, maybe this will cheer you up. Go to the folder on your c: where HTML Editor is installed, default path is:
C:\Program Files\CoffeeCup Software
Open the file "mru.ini" with Notepad or Wordpad.
Inside is the last 20 files opened. You can manually delete the filenames & paths and the next time you open HTML Editor, they should be gone from the list.

Hi Adam.

I think GLP and I were able to figure out what he needed. It wasn't so much that the recently viewed file list could not be edited, but that the file menu on the left of the editor was closed, and GLP did not know that you could keep it open and use it to find the files needed. So if he opened up some files he did not want to edit later, he lost the ability to find them again using the html editor, and had to rely on explorer to "open" each file with CoffeeCup Editor.
I hope I explained that properly......anyway, I'm glad you figured out how to edit the recent files list. Coffeecup said it could not be done.

Reviving an ancient thread....I just ran down the location of the "mru.ini" file in HTML Editor 12 Build 375 on a Windows 7 machine.

Mine is at:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\CoffeeCup Software\CoffeeCup HTML Editor\Settings
where "username" is your username on your computer.

When deleting the files, it helps to also change the number of files number to the number of files you are leaving in the file. In my case it was 0.
