code for controlling the content in...
When applying for a job online, my sweetheart is faced with copying and pasting a cover letter into a
form on the company's website. He would love it if someone could tell us how to insert some code, so that his cover letter looks like a letter, with proper line breaks and left-justification.
Is this possible to do, without the recipient seeing the code?
This is a very important job opportunity, and he would like his information to stand out like no other, but these online applications are just so confining!
Thanks for any help you can offer!

Oh.... and to be able to throw in a custom signature would be fabulous, as well!
Hiya Esther,
I'm afraid you might be limited to whatever setup the site he is submitting to allows. Check the site help and see if there are some instructions or some information on what is allowed for tags to be used with their setup. That will probably be your best bet on this as each site has their own restrictions and what works for one may not work for another and could end up being more work than not in trying to maintain more than one copy of the Resume for text and code styles since you'd have to have one copy to submit without any codes and one with for sure. You might then also have to have copies with multiple different code styles depending on what each job site allows.

If nothing else he can rest easy in the knowledge that any others applying for the job are having to use the same system and so gain no advantage for their application presentation.
Can he not just prepare his application as a digital document and upload it through the online system?

No. No digital documents. He just followed the rules. Wish him luck!
