Use of "CAPTCHA" or "skewed image verification" is becoming very popular on many eCommerce websites because it traps out automated bots designed to spam or hack sites. CAPTCHA, by the way, stands for "Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart."

One of the latest bot attacks is to spam simple registration forms, fill the fields with nonsense and then send them to the webmaster. It's making use of these type forms problematical and will force wider use of captcha type solutions.

A CAPTCHA tool seems like a perfect product for Coffeecup using Flash technology. While there are a number of scripts for free Captcha, such as QuickCaptcha, these generally require PHP and are not quite as flexible as something CoffeeCup could devise. The Captcha wizard would allow setting the parameters, selecting the image font and adding or not adding a button to refresh the image (recommended). All these lend themselves to the CoffeeCup tool format.
