Awhile back I came across a link on one of the threads on this site which showed me a company which gave you code so that customers or other people could edit a site without acually having ftp access.

<Code>
You Can change me
<Code>

I would love to see this software looked at deeper, as I am good at design and would not know where to start so let people edit my site.

Its like wikipedia click and edit that simple.

Anyone know of any services or software like this?

There are plenty of services that offer this functionality. They are all using TinyMCE or similar scripting.
http://tinymce.moxiecode.com

Uses a tag to declare editable regions. Edits files directly. Does not store FTP info at remote location. Purchased for each domain.

I have tried snippetmaster. It's easy and works pretty well.

Its wonderful!

I prefer to pay the money for a license for each domain using SnipperMaster. That way client FTP details aren't supplied to a third party database.

And if are using a third party service like CushyCMS, you really should get client consent before supplying FTP details to others. It is the professional thing to do.

Hang on hang on!
I've just come across this. I'm not a CSS-type, I'm a VSD girl. Is it possible to use Cushy for VSD designed websites?
Cheers chaps!

Just a simple, stupid question...........why would you want someone else to "Edit" your webpage??

I could see it if you are a developer and it is your customer that would edit to get what he wants on his site. Is there another reason?

You have to assign a class to identify the elements Cushy is able to edit. I don't think you will be able to work that out from within VSD.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
