Hmmm.... non-website software idea

OK... I know you guys are focused mainly on web-based stuff, but you also have some awesome non-web software.

NOW... I am in need of (1) a PDF creator and packager & (2) a way to take those PDFs and make them into PROTECTED E-books. But I also want to be able to let them go as PLR packages to those who want that as well.

I have checked out a LOT of the stuff already out there, downloaded a LOT of trials.... I just can't find anything that fits exactly what I want at a price I can afford... nor anything as simple and inexpensive as what CC usually has to offer me. Most of them are outrageously priced and very hard &/or confusing to use.

I LOVE all the software here (and yes, I have all but 1 or 2 programs now!) and I love the S-Drive as well (although I don't use it much... YET) :-)

But I really need help with this one, and I would really like to see CC come up with a great, simple solution for me. I know you all can do it!

Thanks

I bought PDFilleditor cost $20 great value. I use it now for help files. Create the pdf's first then there are a number of ways to protect them. One step at a time. Once the text and formatting is complete then consider what other form to deliver the work. The Kindle is a current reader that may require a special tool to use. Best of luck with your project Kim

I checked it out and got the free version. I am purchasing this TODAY! :) I already have the Kindle convert program. Now to see if it keeps the protection after it is converted. Even if it doesn't, I still LOVE this program!

COFFEECUP -- you should do stuff like this for us, too! At least think about it ? I know a lot of people that are seeking reliable, good software at reasonable prices (too much of it is inflated), that is EASY to use. I would be more than happy to send them to CC!

THANK YOU PRISM! You have been a great help to me!

I only just spotted your thread and wondered if you have tried Calibre for e-book conversion. I use it all the time to convert plain text to epub for my Kobo e-reader. It's free, and being developed continually, I think there's an update every Friday with more features for a program that is already superb. It will convert pretty much all e-book formats. :)

There is much available for this sort of work at no charge under Linux. Install Ubuntu Linux yourself and then have a look at the available software. Or ask a friend who uses Ubuntu to let you perform a search on his system.

Yes, I looked just like that in 1962.
