Sitemapper 5.1 problem - Page 1

I am running Win 7 64bit. When trying to "create" after a site scan, I am given the option of where I want to save it. At that point, if I try to choose anywhere other than the default location, it will lock up the program completely. Anyone else have this problem, or a fix?

Lynn - Are you running this (and other CC Software) as Administrator? Or in Compatibility Mode? Some users have HAD to run with those set, others have not. With 64-bit issues, this is the first thing to look at and try.

I have tried changing compatibility to XP service pack 2, and 3. I also have tried running it as an administrator. As long as I save it to the default "Desktop" it works fine.

I run a 64bit system on vista and don't have that problem with sitemapper, but do with all of the video related CC software. The lockup generally means its not compatible. Apparently, it is believed that if you open the program in compatibility mode that it will work, but I have never had that work for me, it just screws up my computer. :(

I'm still fairly convinced that there is a correlation between hardware and issues. I'm not real sure what the link is, but I'm thinking that certain pieces of hardware 'may' be causing problems. Of course the only way to try to track this out is for people to report what they have (specs) and what issues if any they are having, and does admin and/or compatibility mode help?

Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to see enough data to put that together.

It is very hard for us to debug as well. I know there are many users who use all of our software on their 64-bit system without even using the compatibility option. Others have to use it and then it works just fine.

My laptop came with the 64-bit version but I quickly formatted it just because so many software applications still have problems running on that platform.

I thought you couldn't get rid of the 64bit, how do you format it otherwise?

Just install the 32-bit version of that operating system. My Toshiba actually came with 2 cd's, the 32-bit and 64-bit version of Windows 7.

An update! I can save it elsewhere by using the Icons(recent, desktop, libraries, computer, network), instead of the pull down menu.:)
