Hello,

I am trying Sitemapper. When I upload my files everything seems to work except that cssimages (all 4 png files) can't be uploaded. The error says cssimages remote path could not be created.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,
Elena

When you configured the server settings for Sitemapper, what did you do with the long field 'Remote folder where Sitemapper should be uploaded...'?

1. If you, when uploading, have to navigate to your public_html folder (sometimes called www folder), you should write public_html or www.
2. If you want to have the sitemap files in a subfolder inside the public_html or www folder, you write public_html/subfoldername.
3. If you get directly into the web root, which is the public_html or www folder, in other words you don't see any folder by that name, try writing nothing in the field. If you get an error by doing so, then try writing a / (slash) into the field.

I tried this myself, and in my case I had to do # 3, and the / was the correct setting for my server.

Thanks again, you are really helpful :) I tried first two yesterday and they both gave me an error as mentioned.

Then I tried / (slash) and it worked, uploaded just fine. But I still don't get where I am supposed to find my map now. I tried lebwebmaster/sitemap.html lebwebmaster/sitemap/sitemap.html and same with xml and all are 404 errors. Maybe I was supposed to do something else?

Where do you find your sitemap after uploading?

Thanks,
Elena

Normally it would be http://lebwebmaster.com/sitemap.html but obviously it was not there...

Have you got an independent FTP client that you can navigate to your site with and take a look and see where you've got which files? If you haven't, try the CC free FTP or Filezilla.

I think I tried to upload it so many times that it is all around the place but not where it should be. I can see some empty folder called sitemap and another one with all the files outside of public_html.

It seems I need to concentrate, clean everything up and try again.

Thanks for your kind help :)

WOW, update! I fixed my issue by simply choosing another theme.

I've got it at sitemap/sitemap.html because I uploaded it into a subfolder.

Time to celebrate! Thanks for help! :D
