Wow. Kinda surprised at the price. $69 to upgrade when I spent $190 in June of 2017. What are the improvements that justify that cost? Seems like CoffeeCup is getting ridiculously expensive now.
Not at all. Consider Adobe's prices. Their software is all sold as a subscription. To get only Dreamweaver, it would cost you:
Paid monthly (month-to-month): $31.50/mth (works out to $378/year)
Annual Commitment (paid monthly): $21/mth (works out to 252/year)
Annual Prepaid: $240.
With Coffeecup: Upgrades Cost Less
You get a full year of upgrades included in what you pay. Spending $69-$89 once per year for upgrades is FAR less than with Adobe. Even if you had to pay it twice (which you don't), you have still paid less than if you were paying Adobe.
With Coffeecup, You Get More Design Freedom without Knowing How to Code
With Dreamweaver, you have to know how to code. With other software, you either have to know how to code or you sacrifice control of layout and appearance because you are limited to their templates. Site Designer gives you nearly full control over your css and provides themes (many of them free) that you can use as templates -- design freedom and control without knowing how to code.
No Subscription, Your Software Belongs to You
I heard complaints recently about people who were using old versions of Adobe's software. Adobe sent them letters saying that their license was expired. They had to either upgrade to the latest version of the software or stop using it.
With Coffeecup, your software has a perpetual license. That means they are never going to tell you that you have to upgrade or stop using the software. If you want to keep using the current version of the software, that's entirely your option. If you don't need the new features, don't upgrade. You're not stuck on a subscription. Your current software will continue to work.
For these reasons, in my opinion, Coffeecup's pricing is excellent.
