using the FORM component in RSD

Hi there,

I'm looking at adding a FORM to a contact page where the user just adds their email and message and then they just hit SUBMIT and the form is sent to me. I see that there is a FORM component but I can't seem to edit the SUBMIT button for example where, I would assume, I would have an email address for the form info to be sent.

Is my thinking correct or is there another way?

I have the form designer software but it seems so longwinded to create a form and then do the relevant actions like adding a link and so on when really, all I would want is to save the form on my drive and add it to the project (which is the most logical way forward I think)... In fact, if I want to use the form designer, some of the actions are not selectable such as I can't change where I want to publish my form which I think would be the first step in trying to link a form designer form to my RSD site...

Any ideas would be great...

Thanks, Maz

Hi, you need a back-end PHP script for your form. I have a form in my 'Component Shop', see the 2nd URL in my signature and look for the contact form. It is a bit more complex than what you seem to need, but I could help you 'shave off' the bits you don't want.

Hi there,

I d/l the component but got an error when I tried to import it but maybe it wasn't an error! (screenshot 111)

So, I thought I would try a different route before I start asking for help. I Used the Web Form Builder and created a form and then copied the link to the form after I uploaded it to my account. I then created a <Send me a message> button with that link which now opens to a new page. It seems to work after much trial and error regarding the email address I was adding.

The only problem I'm having now is importing the reply email template from Email Designer because when I save the file in Email Designer, it does not get recognised as a valid file when I select from WFB, the option to import this file... So, I'm working on this and if I have any problems, I hope the forum can help.

Thanks as usual for your wonderful help... Maz

The error message you got is because you downloaded the form version for Bootstrap. You should have downloaded a similar component for Foundation. See the different framework tabs along the top of the site you were on? If you had opened the one reading Foundation, you would have found the right one.

I'm not the right person to help with Email Designer and Form builder, but there are others here...

You need to export the edited thingy in email designer
then when it's done that you are given 3 choices

choose copy HTML

Then open webform builder
in the settings thingy
open the bit for the reply thingy {the one you edited in email designer)
select "Edit" then baste the HTML from Email Designer
