I'm trying to use Coffee Cup Free FTP to upload a website to my host, Whois hosting. The Domain name is already at registared by/at Whois. has anyone dome this before? I would think it is the same process as any other hosting service, but CC Free FTP is failing to establish a connection to Whois.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I'm confused by your saying that you have a domain at Whois. Whois, as far as I know it, is a lookup service to find out who owns a domain (among other things). I have never heard that they offer hosting service. Maybe you could let us know what your domain name is, then we might find out for you.

Historically, you are correct, but today Whois offers multiple services. You can check it out yourself here: https://shop.whois.com/web-hosting/windows-hosting.php

OK, I stand corrected. ;)

Didn't you get any instructions on how to upload your site from Whois? I see they have a Plesk panel, surely you can upload through that. With some servers you have to create your own FTP access inside Plesk, so if they didn't send you a ready made-up ftp address, you may have to try your luck in Plesk.

OK, so I've had some success getting it to upload. The pages upload just fine. The .png images are not uploading. I'm getting two errors. The first one is a time-out error stating the action is taking too long. The other error states that there is a problem receiving a signal from the server. check for firewalls and antivirus software. These files are being uploaded one after the other in queue. It doesn't make any sense to me that the pages upload fine but then the signal is upload pipe is lost.
anyone have any thoughts. The images are optimized.
Thanks,

Inger,
Thank you. I'll try Plesk.

Plesk worked. I should have tried that sooner.

Thanks for your help.
