All templates and components - even the old and the free ones - are only for the newest SD Version - mine = 3479 cannot use them. I should have downloaded them earlier.
My question is - if I buy a component pack - have I to update my SD version as well ?

Yes is the short version.
You have 2 choices
Inger has some on her sharing site thingy (check address on her signature) they may be some you can use for your version.
Or
Make your own
Again depending on what you want I have some videos for making some which you could follow along to

I have been a longtime without working on SD so it will be time consuming. I thought there is a short way. My old sites are on foundation - I could use them - but I'd like to work on a frameless version. Inger has very nice layouts - but no frameless.
I only have to make a new navigation ... and then still I will not find what I want but have to adapt. I'll look into my timetable and compare it to my meanness.

If you by 'frameless' mean the 'frameworkless' system, I do have components for it. If you look at this sharing page: https://eikweb.com/sharing, you will find them by the name of 'Vanilla' (which was the name Coffeecup used for it earlier, before they found that there actually exists another framework by that name). The 'frameworkless' ones have the (VA) in the name. On that sharing page, all the building blocks are a bit old, so you should be able to use them.
On my new site, https://mock-up.coffeecup.com, I started using the name Vanilla, but when CC changed it to 'Frameworkless' I found that name kind of clumsy, so I call them 'Bare-Bone' I'm even trying to make CC use that name, as I find it much better, and it reflects the actual layout system very well. Among the Bare-Bone components, you should be able to find some that are from the SD version that you have, or older. If what you would like to have is not usable for you, let me know, and I can adapt it for you.
