Stop changes synchronising between...

Hi there,

i'm designing a website that has several pages.

I have the Index page and amongst others, I have 2 product pages.

I have designed the 1st product page and to save time, I duplicated that page for the 2nd product. The problem is, each time I update the 2nd product page with images, the 1st product page is also updated with images occurring in the same containers as the ones already contained within. i.e. the 2nd product page has a new image, the 1st product page has the correct image and a background image of what I've added in the 2nd product page.

I thought that this may have been because I 'DUPLICATED' the page so I added a page and used the COPY option to copy sections and paste to the new page. But the synchronous updates between the 1st and 2nd product pages still occurs.

Is there a way to DUPLICATE a page or section but to break the link between them so that they don't synchronise the changes?

Thanks, Maz

Hi Maz, Apply styling to a different class or use an ID on the second page.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Hi Maz, Check the wee file I made for you. It should explain things.

Hi Inger,

Thank you again for your help. I haven't really paid that much attention to these parameters because it's only a one page website I did before and the one I'm doing is about 4. I saw somewhere on a coffeecup video that for small websites, it was ok to 'skip' over these settings because the websites are small.

However, you've explained it to me nicely and shown me what I need to do. I've now got an extra level of useful information that's going to help me immensely.

:)
