Something went wrong while saving

While saving, the program (Beta) seems to have crashed or misbehaved and the 'Report to Microsoft' dialogues appeared.
Now the file will not open. An RSD message comes up saying "Invalid Project File. Unable to open project. The file isn't a valid project file or is corrupted."

Is there a backup file stored anywhere, or is there a way to massage an invalid file to get it to open again?
Is the corruption likely to be a single hex value in the file header or more extensive and beyond hope? :)

Thanks,

Daniel

Hey Daniel,

Can you open a support topic and attach your .RSD file there so we can have a look?

Thanks!

Hi Adam,
You seem to be able to do magic!
Whatever you did, the file is fixed and opening again!
Very impressive!
I can continue working again. :)

Many thanks.

I am so glad somebody posted this! I am having the same issue. It crashes all the time (beta) and I have to constantly save to not lose my work. And just a few minutes ago the same "file invalid or corrupted" message came up. I will open up a support ticket and hopefully get this resolved! Thanks!

Please do contact us Monique as I am sure we can fix your project. You also stated you are using the "beta" release. Note that version 1.5 is no longer in beta so do make sure you are using the most current release (1.5 Build 1419). You can download the latest version here at https://www.coffeecup.com/help/myproducts/

I forgot I had downloaded the newest one 1.5 last week. Regardless, I still have the same issue, but I posted my problem in the Support Room. Thanks!

I am having the same issue - had to have the former website manager send the original .RSD files and start over (from what I could tell). Got everything updated and added, saved it, the program stopped running then windows closed it. Now when trying to reopen the file I have an error box stating: Unable to open project. The file isn't a valid project file or is corrupt. I have spent the last 3 days working on this - please help me retrieve my work :-(
