I have just uploaded to a subdomain a start on my first responsive site with RSD. To say I am having some difficulty would be an understatement.
#1
I am pleased with how it looks when it is in small screen mode but when in full screen none of the pictures show and the alignment is way off.
#2
Right now when I save a new version of my page none of the info that I entered into the page via html editor is not there..all my text vanishes
How do I save my changes so that the information I have in my index page shows up when I make adjustments to the RSD file? Right now I have 2 versions and I had to input the text into them twice.
#3
I have a lot more to do..
add pages linked to each individual church,
add links for pdf downloads
add more photos
and replace the temporary blue buttons with the church names with actual photos.

I don't want to go any further until I get my first to questions/problems sorted out.
Thanks Tom

1. The problem there is you made changes on a specific breakpoint. If you maximize your browser you will see the images revert to the placeholders. As you slowly decrease the width, the images appear. That is what happens as styles are applied to a set breakpoint. To fix that, select the right most breakpoint and then move the slider to the right of that. This is where you add your first styles.

2. Each time you export your website in RSD, make sure to either move those files to the folder where the Editor project files are or you need to setup a new website project. However with RSD there really is no reason to be using the Editor for any changes. You can do everything needed right in RSD itself.

okay #1 I will look tomorrow.

#2 I have not seen a place/option to input the text inside RSD
Perhaps I am confusing RSD with RLM when I first bought RLM I understood that all text had to added later in the editor.
Where do I find that option?
Thanks

You can do that with RLM and RSD. Not being able to add text would be a HUGE limitation Tom. ;)

Select the Element and go to the Properties Tab and click the Pencil icon. You can add your text, styles and more. So many options. Have you never done this before in any site you made with RLM or RSD? ;)

This the first site I have done since RLM and RSD came out.
When I bought RLM I was mistaken and I should not have bought it. It does not suit my style of working at all.

I waited for RSD but it wasn't what I thought either. It is a lot closer to what I imagined but not there. I have made sites lately using the responsive templates with html editor instead.
This is my first try with RSD.
For me the biggest issue is that it is neither intuitive (to me) or simple. When I first learned HTML I bought a book and made simple site by copying the text right out of the book and then personalizing it later. Then another slightly more complex one and on and on until I understood each thing that I was adding to each new site. Sams Teach yourself HTML4 in 24 HOURS.
What I need, to match my learning style, is a book that lays out things one line at a time. The options in RSD are so vast and they are all there at once. It is hard to remember what every single choice is especially when I am not to strong on class, div, id, etc.

My experience in the digital and computer world is that something is always assumed to be known by the learner that is actually not known. From DOS 3.0 through Photoshop cs5, excel, access, xml, html and everything else. For me this is why videos only take me part of the way.
Thanks for the info I will keep on plugging on.

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

Tom,

I agree with you about better (or maybe better presented) help.

The video tutorials and articles are very helpful. But I have yet to find something that explains the functions of each of the options. Especially in the design pane. I am so used to VSD that RSD feels overwhelming. A nice PDF manual would be very helpful.

Brian you may want to rethink including that information in your signature. These forums are public, meaning the entire span of search engines will scan every page of them. That gives full reign to all of the spambots to find your info and add it to their databases. Just in case you weren't aware of that, it's definitely not a good idea.

Thanks for the advice Jo. I already recognize that, and it's ok.

Thanks Scott. I found the text entry tool and got that working. I found the the missing breakpoint and have that working.
I am going to upload the newer version later today.

Still lots to learn and I may yet call or email you Brian.
Thanks
