I have sometimes gone through many versions of project (.rsd) files (perhaps I experiment too much), and so I make the 'Save As ...' process as quick as possible.

1. I keep Windows Explorer set at Details in its View tab so that the date and time of the last saving of all files is visible: Windows automatically saves those details.

2. I make the very first saving of an .rsd file without creating a version number, but just a hyphen at the start, e.g. -myproject.rsd.

3. Subsequent versions using 'Save As ..." for an updated version of the file in the same folder then need only two mouse clicks and 3 key presses:
(a) I click on the original name used (the one starting with the hyphen) to get the original name in the File Name box.
(b) I click anywhere in the File Name box to get the focus there.
(c) I press the Home key on the keyboard followed by the version number to make it, say, 01-myproject.rsd.

No doubt some similar quick process is available for the those with Mac computers.
