Hey everybody,

Sorry if this topic has come up already. I couldn't find any threads related to it in the forum. My problem is this. I am working with the Shutterbug theme in RSD and am having trouble altering the link overlays in the middle part of the index page. These are the parts where there are images that show through text and gradient overlays. The first overlay is orange and it covers up a picture of a girl with flowers. I would like to alter the overlay so that it lightens on mouseover (not disappear), and also that the "Heading" and associated text remains on hover. Can anyone help me with clues on how to do this? I'm new to RSD. Thanks!

Brian

hi Brian
first of all you need select the "link container (this is what has the orange overlay associated)
then go down to the "style " section" in designer panel & then to "type" select ID from the drop down menu
then go to "state" (just underneath the "apply to"
select "hover" from the drop down menu
then go right down to the section "effects"
there you will see the opacity is set to "0"
you can now move the slider thingy upwards until you get to the opacity you would like

to change the text/rule/paragraph to show up a bit better simply make then stronger or a slighly different colour, they are not disappearing on hover just don't show up because the gradient has gone

Hey everyone,

I'm having a different problem with the Shutterbug theme link overlays and the images below them. I have altered them in development, as Wayan Jaya suggested, but there seems to be a "straggling" image below the images that shows through. It only shows through when the browser width is at about 575 px. And it gets even trickier than that. When I remove the offending, aberrant image from the index page, the image also gets removed from the "About" page. I guess it's the hero image there. Does anyone have an idea why that's happening and how to fix it? A development version of my site can be found at http://www.btdarters.com/dev/. Thanks for any help!

That's probably because the row column whatever holding the background image have the same class or it has been set as type. Therefore it's a bit like the 3 musketeers remove one remove all
