Hi,

I am very eager to play with RSD v2, but I am only reluctant because I have a ton of sites I am working on right now in v1 and am afraid I don't have the time to just dive into v2. Is v2 a stand alone program? Can I run both versions on my computer at the same time? If I can, I am going get V2 right away!!

Thanks! :)

It is apparently not recommended, but you can. You can open your RSD projects in v2 and continue working in the coffeegrinder system. You can even get all the v1 themes ported over, and they will stay coffeegrinder.

Hi,

Thanks so much for your reply. Why is it not recommended? Can you please explain why?

Thank you! :)

I actually can't explain it, it works well on my system with both versions. The only thing I have noticed is, if you have a rsd. project made in version 1.5 and click that file, it will open in version 1.5. If, however, you have a project made with version 2, and click that file to open it, Version 1.5 will try to open it, but it can't, and you get an error message about an invalid file.
I don't know of other problems.

That's basically why.

Okay, that won't be an issue for me. I never click on files to open them. I always open them from the open button in the program. AWESOME! Looks like I am gonna get v2!

Thanks everyone! :)

Hey Dawn, I have a site I've been working on for like 6 months so I kept v1 and updated to v2, and did a system restore point so I could go back in case... but it was seamless. Even with all the external CSS fixes for links etc. and added Jquery it opened with no issues using CC coffeegrinder.

Just take note that it does lag longer than usual when opening so you need to be a little patient on the initial boot.

Also even though I have both instances if I select a saved file from a folder it still opens in V2 so mine acts a little different than Ingers.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
