Have you guys got any solutions to adding a CMS for clients into RED.

In the past for static sites I've used Surreal CMS - which worked fantastically. I'm just about to undergo a test of uploading a small promo site I've done in the past with RSD and seeing how it handles it.

CMS - Yeah!

I've used SiteGrinder (a Photoshop plugin - now out of business) for years to build CMS websites, before responsive became mandatory. Since then I built a few WordPress sites, but I really don't like using it (I want to have it all on my computer).

I looked at the Surreal CMS website, and may try a free trial, but I'm concerned about how it handles a RSD website with multiple breakpoints and their respective page layouts.

Looking forward to Adam Hick's feedback here.

I swear by the Dreamweaver plug ins from Webassist... course you need to have Dreamweaver to take advantage of them

I did a small test on Friday with Surreal CMS. Basically you just need to add snippets of code where you'd like editable fields. Originally had issues with text fields not being recognised - but seems I was adding the editable fields in the wrong spot. See graphic below of where you have to add.

All seems to be successful so far - was able to edit RSD text and publish without effecting to template and same goes with images.

Might be an option for clients. But keep in mind it's the most basic of CMS - so simply for editing images and text for specific fields.

Surreal CMS has the never ending monthly payments plus with a limit on how many websites you can use it for... this is an easy one to "Just Say No!".
When Adobe went to the ScrewScription it only made me get even closer to the great apps Coffeecup makes. Maybe there will be a CMS in the future here, but for now the monthly subscription to Surreal CMS can Kiss My $%@!
If you have Dreamweaver CS4, CS5, CS5.5,CS6 (I refuse to acknowledge screwscription CC) with no never ending monthly payments, Extendstudio.com has a neat plugin called InContext CMS that does a good job.

Our clients pay for the subscription - so it's no out of pocket expense for us.
I do see your point of view. If the CC team could come with a CMS that integrates with RSD would be a wet dream.

I just signed up for this... works great on any website built with RSD. Your right Adam as you are I am also passing that cost on to my clients. From what I can see they will pay that without second thought.
