RSD 3 Release Date?

Hello,

I ended up making the investment in Coffeecups special that includes RSD 2.5. I would like to make a simple 5 page site with a contact form and slider. I've been reading that it may be difficult to easily make multi page sites with RSD. Is this correct? Is there any indication that RSD 3 will change this? I hear that version 3 will be coming out soon. Is this a matter of weeks or months?

If I'm forced into making a site with an online builder like Webflow I can do that but I really am not keen on that option from a support perspective if CC will be coming out with their competing product very shortly.

Thanks.

You can easily make a 5 pages site. One of the gripes some people have with RSD seems to be that you cannot make a hierarchy of folders for the pages. You can, though, create folders for such things as images, external css, js etc.
I have also seen people complaining about having to update menus etc on every page. This is not true, there is a feature called 'symbols' (strange name, but so be it.), and if you make a menu on one page, you can turn it into a symbol and insert it on the rest of the pages. Then you only have to update the menu (or every other symbol you create) on one page, and the rest gets updated automatically.
RSD 2.5, which is the one we use now, has two grid systems built in, Bootstrap and Foundation. In both you can create the front end of a form, but you need to find a backend script to make it work. Some of us have been messing with that and can assist you if you need it.

As to RSD 3, your guess is as good as mine. ;)
Ha en riktig god dag!

Hello Inger,

Thank you for the information. I'm not a web designer by trade, the closest I get is UX design for technical applications. In short I don't code, my goal is to make the application highly usable for the users. I think I have the full suite of software from CC, maybe building our the forms and sliders in the respective applications will get me further along in the process?

I'm hesitant to jump right into learning RSD 2.5 if I need to unlearn in a few weeks. That's why I'm wondering about the release date for RSD 3.

Take this in context due to my lack of experience with CC software but I think CC has to really organize and consolidate their product line. Half a dozen applications at the very most, unify the UX across those applications and work toward consolidating and refining those packages.

Given the competition I do see that it's possible to appeal to a larger non technical audience when it comes to the overall web design experience without alienating old guard users. In my evaluation CC customer support is head and shoulders above their competition, I think tightening their product portfolio and focusing their road map would help them.
