In RSD you can adjust preferences to include a sitemap.xml and robots.txt file during export. The problem is the export of the sitemap is: Sitemap: REPLACE_WITH_YOUR_SERVER_PATH/sitemap.xml, and the robots.txt file is similar. I understand the path needs to be updated to match the actual path. The problem is that every time you make a change in RSD and export it, you have to manually update the path with each export. There should be some way in RSD to enter the actual path, so that with each export the path is correct without having to change it. After the first export, the preferences could be adjusted to no longer export those 2 files. The problem would be that if pages are added or subtracted the sitemap would no longer be correct. Am I missing something?

You're not missing anything. And you're right, it should be made easier.

What I do is open the files, especially the sitemap, in the Editor and use search-replace.

Thank you Inger. At least I haven't lost my mind completely. Maybe one of the RSD software folks will see this and make it a bit easier. Seems it would not be too difficult.

So Whats wrong with just putting your own Robots -- Sitemap files thingy in to the resources,, and then editing it etc from there within SD,, easy peasy (use find & replace to change path name etc)

Actually, Phil...

There already is an easy built-in way to enter the server path. So we both missed out on something until I found this by chance today:

In SD, open Actions - Settings. There you can add your project name and the URL to your domain (to which you intend to upload the project). When that has been done, it will add the path to all the pages in your project on export.
