Hello,
I'm having problems installing the current version RSD v1.5 Beta.
In January I downloaded that version with no problems and was able to open the application.
A few days ago I deleted the old version, cleaned the registry (CCleaner) and temporary files, to prepare for installation of the latest version of RSD Beta.
I downloaded the zip file for build #1349. When I extracted the files I received 2 error messages from Avast AntiVirus and the rsd executable file disappeared from the folder (perhaps quarantined?).
Today I downloaded build #1350 with the same results.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I am confident that Coffee Cup is NOT doing anything malicious to my computer but I thought they should be aware of this.
I will try to attach a screenshot of the error message but here is what it said:
THREAT BLOCKED
Object: C:\...\responsive-site-designer-beta-win-en-1.5-1350.e:
Infection: Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]
Process: C:\Windows\explorer.exe The threat was detected and blocked just before the file was opened.
Then there is a link: Add file to the scan exclusion list
The second error is identical except for the Process:
Process: PID 8020
I checked and the virus definitions are up to date...
HELP, please... What should I do?
Problem installing RSD v1.5 Beta...
I'm sorry you ran into that issue with our software Sheila. Typically these errors are caused by your antivirus software definitions files being out-of-date and reporting a false positive as a result. We do lots testing of all of our software with the latest versions of all major antivirus software, and we can confirm with absolute certainty that our software is clean.
The Funny thing is, Avast is the only scanner that is having this problem. I have submitted our app to their database to be whitelisted, and we are just waiting for an acknowledgement from their system. If you can also report that it is safe, that will help speed up the process.
Hopefully, in a few days, you can update your antivirus software and it will remove the false alert.
