One major thing that will be a super MUST for a new slider/gallery program is the ability to put the text anywhere you want and "not" over the top of the photos if you don't want it to be. Ability to add it in a line below, above, etc. as well as on top, but without the all annoying semi transparent background behind it that hides a good portion of your photos.
I'm sure you guys area already aware of that part as there have been quite a few complaints and requests on that.

Great suggestion JoAnn! +1 here

Yes indeed! I was also going to mention that.

In Wow slider you have to hack the css file if you want to have the slide show anywhere else than centered (horizontally) on a page. I would appreciate some controls within the programme for that.

Further comparison with Wow slider: I happen to have two versions, 6.3 and 6.9. The older version has no preview, but it has a panel where you can see all your images and move them around in the sequence you want them. That panel is good!
The newer version has a preview, but the images are shown in a vertical list, and if you want to move one from say, the bottom to the top, you need to do that in several steps as you can't see the whole list at a glance.

So please, let us have the possibility to see all the images (not if we have zillions, of course), AND have a preview. If the preview has to be in a separate window, so be it.
Attached is a screen shot of what you have right after you have imported some images in the two versions. Take the best of each. :)

I'm a big fan of WowSlider. You download the software and then all from within the program you can customise exactly how your slideshow/photo gallery will look like before exporting it.

We are working on a responsive slider app right now (as well). Andrew, can you please explain what you specifically like in wowslider? To use the design / customization possibilities seem very limited...but maybe we're missing something.

Just wanna make sure we do the right thing here ;)

Correct me if I am wrong, but this slider costs $69 to use just once on one website. Sounds pretty darn expensive for a simple slider.

Yea, they seem to have pricing options but I don't think the pricing info is relevant in the Responsive Site Designer forum so I am going to 'curate' some posts. :o

I know, no worries.

Our slider rocks in terms of design control, don't think it has done before. Can't wait to show it off!

I need a gallery capable of multiple albums like Coffee Cup, but is NOT Flash based. There just isn't anything. Anyone?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
