Not starting ...
I just bought RSD yesterday and installed it on a Win 7 64 system. When I click the icon nothing appears on screen, BUT it does show up in the Task Manager. How can I fix this? Thanks, folks!
What you are describing sounds like a bad install. What I would like you to first do is uninstall the version you have now and then download the software again from our website. To download any registered software or to download any free upgrades, please go to My Products from within your account. Once the software list appears, click the "download" button next to the software you wish to install.
Then, configure the shortcut to always run as administrator. Here's how:
1. Right-click the shortcut icon, and click Properties.
2. Click the Compatibility tab.
3. Here, put a check mark by Run This Program as an Administrator.
4. Next, put a check mark next to Run This Program in Compatibility Mode For: and ensure Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 is selected.
5. Click OK.
In the end your settings should match this:

Thank you! I did exactly what you said, but it is behaving the same. No window, no active icon, only a line in the Task Manager that says "Responsive Site Designer.exe *32 ... 6712 K"
Try un-installing the software, rebooting and then re-install. Also, make sure no security program is intercepting RSD from opening.

Norton Antivirus/Internet Security often stops a program from running unless you expressly tell it to allow the program to run. If you are running Norton, you may need to allow the program.

Well, I sure do appreciate the help! While your reasonable ideas did not help directly they did lead to my noticing that WTServerHID.exe was trying to start in the Task Manager every time that I tried to start RSD. This program is a GTCO product that works with a tablet device that I haven't used in years. I then reactivated that program and found that RSD started perfectly!! And another non-starting app also started - it was the only other non-starter.
So --- I'm back on track and very grateful to you. And I wanted to report to you about the conflict.
Thanks again!!
